Later it was established as a cantonment and the training center for recruitments of Garhwal Rifles. Presently this town is administration part of the same brigade for the Indian Army. Unakoti is the ancient town of Tripura also famous as religious place. The old temple of Shiva is primary place to visit in town. We can say Unakoti is the prime tourism spot of Tripura region in the North East India. This holy place dates back between 7th to 9th centuries. The masterpiece or the work done at this place is amazing especially on rock carvings. Their primordial beauty and waterfalls are some other finest spots of Unakoti.


The sources available state the place as historical pilgrimage destination with stunning shrine of Lord Shiva as first place to visit. Actually it is the hill area with natural scenery and sweet valleys with some all time favorite waterfalls. Unakoti is also described in Hindu myths. As per sources God Shiva was came to Unakoti with 1 crore gods and goddesses visiting visit Kashi. He stayed in this town for a night and asked all gods and divinities to wake him up before sunrise to precede Kashi. However, only Lord Shiva wake up in the morning and no one besides could get up. As all of them were sleeping lord Shiva curse others to turn into stone images. The proof of such incident is you will find one less than crore images carving on rocks at Unakoti, though the images are beautifully reshaped in the area with green floras all around.


The stone images are found of two type one stone image and other rock-carved figures. There is one Shiva�s head in the central part with huge figure of Ganesha. The name of this central Shiva head is Unakotiswara and that turned as the name of this special town as well. The complete name of this image is Unakotiswara Kal Bhairava which is around 30 feet in height with an overstated head-dress. Each side of Shiva�s head is dress and two sized figured female in place. Among these two statues one is of Goddess Durga. The other 3 massive images are of Nandi Bull found partially buried. There are many other images and statues in Unakoti and one day is not enough to view these finest images.


Festival: Ashokastami is the biggest festival of this region held in the middle of April visited by huge amount of devotees.


Maintenance: Till last few years the site was neglected by the local administration causing degradation of images. The loss of significant rock art work is seen here easily. After adoption of site by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) the place introduced to the world as a heritage town of India. Now condition of Unakoti is slightly improved, but still lots of things need to be done here. The positive approach of Indian Government towards UNESCO to announce Unakoti as world heritage spot is the fact that places is under secure hands now. Central government has announced Rs 12 crore for development of this place as it can become the world�s best tourism spot. Unakoti is having features that this town can introduce north-east India to global visitors with different approach.



Our purpose to introduce this place to our viewers is we want Unakoti to become a symbolic tourism spot. Once you reach this place you will learn about the Indian mythology. The facts available here are enough to change your mind. It is almost at lost situation and we want this to be renewed and renowned to the world so that people will know the reason behind creation of beautiful amazing striking images on the hard rocks. It's not at all easy to create such huge images with so many carvings. It is the special destination having all Hindu religious values. According to information provided by the localities at Unakoti, a sculptor named as Kallu Kumar carved all these images. However, single person can never carve these much of images. Many other stories are also there behind creation of these images and the fact is people are having valid reason behind these stories. How to reach Unakoti?
Unakoti is 178 km away from the northeast city Agartala. The best part is you can fly to Agartala from various parts of India. Agartala airport is properly connected to many big cities of India. You can also plan for Silchar that is 148 km away from Unakoti. However, Silchar is not having airport, but you can get the train for this important station. The other closest railway station for Unakoti is Kumarghat that is just 20 km far from Unakoti.

Binsar a town of Himalayas under Jhandi Dhar hills ranges is our target of the day. We all know the hill stations of India are best among world. This is also the one located at 33 km distance from Almora town of Uttarakhand.



There are many spots to visit in Binsar, though Zero Point is special as the travelers are getting clear vision of Himalayan peaks from this spot. You can view the hills such as Kedarnath, Trisul, Shivling and Nanda Devi peaks with naked eyes.



The town is having rich history as it was the summer capital of state during the Chand rulers of Kumaon. The town was established in year 1988 as a part of conservation and defense of the lessening broad leaf oak jungles of the Himalayan region.



Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary: There are many areas you can visit in Binsar, though Sanctuary is the key spot for visitors. There is a museum built for flora and fauna in Binsar. It is the Wildlife Sanctuary known for numerous types of flora. Maximum part of sanctuary is covered with rhododendron trees and oak. If you really want to enjoy the Binsar wildlife then reach spot between March and April as you will get a chance to view rare flowers particularly ruby red rhododendron. Don�t forget it�s a jungle so you can view some mammals such as leopard, goral, musk deer, chital, Sumatran serow, , wild boar, jungle cat, black bear, red fox, pine marten, gray langur, red squirrel, rhesus macaque, and Muntjac.  You can also enjoy over 200 types of birds such as tits, nuthatches, forktail, blackbirds, laughingthrush, parakeets, magpies, monal, kalij pheasant, koklas, woodpeckers, eagles and Eurasian jays.

Attraction in Binsar:
Apart then sanctuary there are some best spots for visitors. We were not able to cover the complete place because of short of time. However, key destinations are mentioned in this short note so done miss these at least.



Binsar Mahadev: A shrine located in the forest approximately 20 km distance from Ranikhet and 70 km away from Almora. It is the temple of Lord Shiva and a big celebration is done in the month of June organised as local festival. Thousands of devotees reach Binsar Mahadev during this period. This Hindu holy place was named after the establishment of this temple.



Kasar Devi temple: Another best shrine known as Kasar Devi temple located at 9 km distance from Binsar town. It was the place housed Dutch monks among 1970 to 1980. People came to know about this place in 1920 when Sri Swami Vivekananda Ji came here and did meditation for many days.



Binsar Zero Point: Once you reach the sanctuary you must go to Zero Point from where you can view the beautiful Himalaya ranges. It is the highest vintage point of state allows you 360 degree view of Himalaya. Binsar is less popular so you will not find many travelers here. That means it is the peaceful and charming destination where you can relax for longer period.



Mary Budden Estate: A place with 8000 feet above sea level is the next spot to visit popular as private owned estate. The beauty of Budden estate will definitely change your mind and you will extend your holidays to spend more time in Binsar.



Not only mentioned spots, you can visit the nearby places that are amazing as well. You can plan for Chitai, Ranikhet, Kausani, Almora and many more. Kathgodam is also closer to Binsar so prepare a chart of places you want to visit once you reach Binsar.



Best time for Binsar: Visiting this amazing town is not a problem but if you want to enjoy the spot properly then summer will be best time for Binsar. October and November are other two best months for Binsar as the climate becomes so charming and greenery is spread everywhere.

By Air: Pantnagar Airport is closer to Binsar just 152 km away. Pantnagar is a domestic airport so international users have to reach nearby big airports and their they can get flight for Pantnagar.

By Rail: closest railway station for Binsar is Kathgodam at just 119 km distance. You will get train for Kathgodam from almost every big city of India.

By Road: Kumaon region of Uttanchal is properly connected big highway and it also connect the Binsar as well.

We got a destination that is located at Gujarat State of India and the name of this spot is Hatharva. A quite different name, but place is awesome. It�s a town of Gujarat not much popular among travelers. However, the Hatharva is having limited spots to visit, though each spot is wonderful. Don�t want to waste much time of yours. Here are the spots that you can enjoy at Hatharva.


Attraction of Hatharva:
Dharoi Dam: It is the gravity dam constructed over Sabarmati River. The exact location of Dam is Dharoi comes under Mehsana region. The place is famous for lake formed in dam. You can enjoy the riverside and the dam at Dharoi. However, you have to cover the distance of 16 km to reach dam from Hatharva.


Khedbrahma: Located at little km distance from town famous for numerous temples of different architecture. Lord Brahma temple is major attraction in Khedbrahma. Cover the distance of 16 km from Hatharva to reach Khedbrahma. 


Idar: Famous for handmade timber toys and tiles. You can also visit the impressively structured monuments, temples and many other places. Gadh (also known as palace) of Idar, Jain Temples, Palace of Roothi Rani and Shiva-Vishnu Temples are prime spots of Idar. This is the heritage site popular for arts and crafts culture. To reach Idar you have to travel for 20 km distance.


Taranga Hill: A must visit spot of Hatharva is Buddhist Heritage at Taranga Hill. Just 20 km away from Vadnagar popular as home of Buddhist monks. As per sources these monks visited the hill thousands years ago. Buddhist sculptures are carved on stone and the walls of caves. Such carves resembles to Kalpavruksha or Bodhi Vriksha. You will find the main idols of Buddhist deity Tara. Caves are not managed properly and because of that many idols are either broken. Once you reach hill area you can also take pleasure of visiting Mahudi, Kumbhariyaji, Vadnagar, Ambaji and temple of Dilwara. It is the complete heritage site popular to the world for Buddhist temples. However, distance of Taranga hill is 32 km from Hatharva.


Polo Temple: Tourism department should try to protect the Polo temples where maximum temples are ruins. Local administration should take appropriate action to save temples because the shrines are under very bad condition. These temples are built between 10th to 15th Century AD. We have to take step to save such ancient temples. This Heritage site is just 42 km away from Hatharva.


There are less spots to visit in Hatharva, but they all are special.

Once you make a plan to visit Hatharva you can also visit the other locations such as Vijaynagar (47 km away), Danta (48 km away) and Poshina (61 km distant). Palanpur is also just 78 km far from Hatharva. If you travel for a bit more you can enjoy one of the biggest businesses center Ahmadabad that is only 130 km far from Hatharva.


Weather conditions: Hatharva is a hot city of Gujarat, though the temperature stays between 20 to 35o C.
